Since the first high school students graduated in Buckeye in 1921, the school has had a fascinating history of growth, change and development. Buckeye Union High School is located within the “historical downtown” city limits of Buckeye and serves approximately 1650 students in grades 9-12. BUHS is designatedas “Performing Plus” by the Arizona Department of Education.

At Buckeye Union, students benefit from a traditional schedule that allows them to complete necessary coursework for high school graduation and university entrance, while still having time to take desired electives. Advanced placement, honors, and dual enrollment courses are available in the areas of English, Math, History, Science, and Spanish. The Career and Technical Education programs on campus include Agriscience and FFA, Auto Technology, Business Technology, Culinary Arts, Fire Science, JROTC, Sports Medicine, Drafting, Welding and Woodworking. Dance, drama, music and visual arts provide even more options for students during the academic day.

In addition, students at Buckeye Union have the opportunity to participate in a variety of athletics and club activities as part of the Hawk experience. Buckeye Union currently competes in the Arizona Interscholastic Association Skyline Region of the 4A-II Conference.
