INTRODUCTION TO AGRICULTURE/FFA

Students learn the basis of agriculture; including leadership, animal science, plant science and agricultural mechanics. This hands-on course provides students the opportunity to learn by doing. Students will earn ½ of a Biology Credit towards graduation.

APPLIED BIOLOGICAL SYSTEMS

Students focus on biological practices through animals and plants. Students will also participate in several mechanic’s projects. The completion of this course will provide the other ½ of the Biology Credit needed for graduation.

HONORS APPLIED BIOLOGICAL SYSTEMS

Students focus on biological practices through animals and plants. Students will also participate in several mechanic’s projects. The completion of this course will provide the other ½ of the Biology Credit needed for graduation.

NATURAL RESOURCES AND ECOLOGY

The course provides students a variety of experiences in the fields of natural resources and ecology Students will explore hands-on projects and activities while studying topics such as land use, water quality, stewardship, and environmental agencies. Study of the natural world including biomes, land, air, water, energy, use and care as well as a focus on issues surrounding man's interaction with the Earth will be addressed in this course.

AGRISCIENCE I- PLANT SCIENCE

Students work together in the school greenhouse to learn plant principles. Students will manage and maintain the school greenhouse and garden beds, while utilizing the skills learned in the classroom. Completion of this course is ½ of a lab science credit.
 
AGRISCIENCE II- ANIMAL SCIENCE

Students learn animal practices to prepare them for a career in animal science. Practices include basic animal management and veterinary skills. Completion of this course is ½ of a lab science credit.

AGRIBUSINESS MANAGEMENT

This course prepared students for careers in agriculture business. Students will learn the basics of business as well as personal finance.

AGRICULTURAL MECHANICS

Students will spend the semester in the mechanic’s shop using their skills in woodwork and metal work to build custom projects. Students will also learn the basic principles of concrete and electricity.

AGRICULTURAL PRACTICUM

This program must be approved by the instructor. Students will be working mainly on their work-based learning projects, along with many hands-on real-world relevant projects. This course may be repeated for credit with instructor permission.
