GOVERNOR DUCEY ANNOUNCES SCHOOL CLOSURE FOR REMAINDER OF YEAR (Governor’s Release)
This morning, through a press release, we were notified that schools will be closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. The Arizona Interscholastic Association has also issued a statement cancelling spring activities. (AIA Release) At this time, I do not have many details of these decisions, but I wanted to notify you as quickly as possible.
There are many questions: graduation, course credits, grades, prom, yearbooks, fundraisers, and many more. As I receive more information from state/federal agencies and/or BUHSD leadership makes decisions, I will contact you immediately. We will continue Online Learning Opportunities and will be moving into the next stages of experiences. Details about what that will look like for your student will be communicated by both district/site level administration and individual teachers. It is critical that your student monitor email and learning platforms. If your student has not connected with their teachers, please have them do so. Thank you for your support and patience in this move to the digital delivery of education.
My thoughts are with you as families as this crisis is a challenge for you mentally, physically, and emotionally. I want you to know how much I care about all of you and assure you that BUHSD is here to assist and support. Together we can persevere and make the best of this situation.
